A Neighborhood Built in Waves

Liberty is a 535-acre master-planned community in the City of Melissa. According to its developer, Hillwood Communities, it opened in 2003, and its last new-construction homes were sold in 2024, for 1,855 homes in total from builders including Drees, Highland, Perry and Bloomfield. The community has a pool and splash pad, a sports pavilion, sand volleyball courts, a catch-and-release fishing pond and walking paths, with Harry McKillop Elementary inside its boundaries.

That long build-out is what makes Liberty interesting from a flooring standpoint. A slab poured in 2004 and one poured in 2023 can sit on the same side of a street and need quite different work.

Which Liberty Garage Do You Have?

On the older phases, a garage floor may now be around twenty years old. Expect set-in oil stains, cracks that have had plenty of time to show themselves and, in some cases, a coating from a previous owner. Those floors benefit most from thorough grinding and repair.

On the newer phases, the concrete is usually in better shape, and the project can focus on color and finish. In either case, the bonus rooms and game rooms in many larger floor plans sit upstairs on framing rather than on a slab, so metallic epoxy is mainly a ground-floor conversation.
