New Homes, Fresh Slabs
Legacy Ranch is a new-construction community in Melissa with Bloomfield Homes building there and students in Melissa ISD. Since so many homes here have only recently been finished, most of the garage floors have not seen much more than a moving truck and a first few months of family life.
That makes this a neighborhood where timing can work in your favor. An empty garage on a clean slab is about as easy as coating projects get, with little to move out and fewer stains to deal with.

Timing Your First Coat
The key number is the cure. Coating makers such as Sherwin-Williams call for at least 28 days on freshly poured concrete, because moisture still has to leave the slab and trapped moisture can interfere with the bond. If your foundation was poured well before closing, you may have already cleared that hurdle, but a moisture check is still sensible.
From there, it comes down to logistics. If you can schedule before moving day, you avoid shifting boxes twice. If you are already moved in, a garage can usually be cleared out for the job with a little planning. Either way, bring your floor plan or a rough size to the estimate conversation.

Should I worry about my builder's warranty?
It is a fair question. Check your builder's paperwork or ask them directly how a floor coating is treated before you schedule, since terms differ.
Does a brand-new slab still need to be ground?
Yes. New concrete is often especially dense and smooth on top, and it may carry a curing compound. Grinding gives the coating something to hold.
What flake color works with a new-build home?
Grays and earth-toned blends are popular because they go with most brick and cabinet choices. Looking at samples in your own garage light is the easiest way to decide.
